Redesigned a slim phone case for the Samsung Galaxy S8 using composite materials.

• 3D surface modeling and mold geometry created in SOLIDWORKS
• Mold fabrication using FDM 3D printing

Molds were printed out of Stratasys Ultem 9085 high resistant thermoplastic for dimensional stability while at elevated temperatures in the oven.

Ply Cutting

Carbon fiber plies cut using an computer controlled Autometrix ply cutter.
